At LightBridge, we possess a passionate commitment to provide our veterans with care that seeks to understand their unique service experience, and reflect our gratitude and appreciation for their service to our nation. We demonstrate this commitment through a specially trained team of staff and volunteers which has achieved the prestigious Partner Level IV status of the nationally acclaimed We Honor Veterans program – one of the initial hospices in the nation to do so and the first in California.
Some of our Veterans Care includes:
- At special ceremonies veterans are honored and presented a We Honor Veterans pin, a certificate of appreciation by a fellow service member, and a remembrance pillow.
- Hospice personnel and volunteers routinely participate in community-outreach events for veterans such a Stand Down, and visit veterans’ homes and centers on significant occasions like Veterans Day and Memorial Day.
- In our No Veteran Dies alone program we provide someone to sit with a veteran without family in his or her final hours.
As needed we can provide military-specific information and assistance with VA benefits and a vast array of special veteran’s programs and services.
Assessment of their military service allowing our team to prepare for potential issues related to their personal experience
Counseling that deals with previously suppressed memories or issues
Acknowledgement of the special circumstances of their life and service era
